Open .docx and .xlsx files without using MS office

We use MS office to view, edit the .docx and .xlsx (excel) files normally. Think of  a time when the MS office got crashed, or in a system it is not install and you want to open/edit the file in that system. What will do? Install a new one? Buy a new one?

Not necessary, you can view or even edit and save .docx, .xlsx files in a system without having MS office installed.

There many other ways you can do it. Today I am going tell three of them you can search and try for others.

The cloud service provided by Google docs will help you if you are connected to internet. Just upload the files in Google docs and select the file, go to more and choose open with “Google docs”. Now you can view the file and even edit it and later download it.

Open Office:

What if you don’t have internet connection? For that you can use open office software. This software is provided by Sun Microsystem for free. Download it, install it and view/edit any .docx or .xlsx file using it.

Open Office is cross-platform and also supports 120 languages. Currently, the suite is under the Apache Software Foundation which oversees its development.

Textmaker software is provided by officeviewers.com. The two software textmaker viewer and planmaker lets you open .docx and .xlsx files respectively.

They are free of charge and lightweight, just download and install to use it.

so no need to pay for MS office anymore.
